Sustainable Success Nudge from Your Future Self
💬 “You don’t have to optimize every season of your life.” Some experiences are meant to be lived… not managed.
Hi Melinda,
Somewhere along the way, even summer became something to manage.
Camps to coordinate. Vacations to schedule. Trips to plan. Work deadlines to maintain. Memories to make. Routines to rearrange. Kids home from school. Trying to stay productive while also somehow relaxing and enjoying the season.
And for many people, summer now feels more stressful than restorative.
Many high performers unknowingly bring By Me energy into a season that naturally wants a little more spaciousness.
We try to optimize summer. Maximize summer. Manage summer.
And before we know it, even joy and self-care start feeling like just more things on an already long checklist.
But what if summer didn’t need to be perfectly orchestrated to be meaningful?
What if this season could simply hold a little more room?
Room to slow down occasionally. Room to be outside longer. Room to stop rushing every moment. Room to actually enjoy your life while you’re living it.
Remember, joy and self-care aren’t things you have to earn.
Your nervous system, your body, your creativity, your gifts and talents, and your spirit were never designed to operate at the exact same pace year-round.
A Through Me summer doesn’t mean abandoning ambition or responsibility.
It simply means allowing yourself to experience the season instead of over-managing it.
So here’s your gentle reminder this week:
Not everything meaningful has to be optimized.
Some things are meant to be experienced.
Perhaps the most meaningful moments this summer won't be the ones you planned.
With presence, Melinda
