Sustainable Success Nudge from Your Future Self:

💬 “Clarity doesn’t come from pushing harder or going faster. It emerges from space.”

This week:
If you’re waiting for clarity before you slow down… try reversing the order.

Hi Melinda,

Most people think clarity comes first.

Once I know what to do, then I’ll rest.
Once things settle down, then I’ll create space.
Once I feel clear, then I’ll trust myself.

But that’s backwards.

And the when-then cycle is brutal your creativity and confidence.

Clarity doesn’t arrive through effort.
It emerges through space…intentional space.

When you’re operating in By Me mode, the instinct is to push—think harder, plan more, figure it out. But pushing only creates noise.

When you shift into Through Me, something different happens.
You stop demanding answers… and start allowing them.

That’s why so many breakthroughs come:

  • in the shower
  • on a walk
  • while driving
  • after you stop trying to solve anything

Not because you worked harder.
But because you created room for insight to land. You allowed your subconscious to assimilate the information.

Let’s practice that right now.

Take a deliberate moment and reflect on this word:

Allowing.

  • What does allowing mean to you—really?

  • Where in your life or work could allowing play a bigger role right now?

To support this, I created a simple one-page journal prompt you can print or sit with digitally.

Grab a cup of tea, your favorite pen, and give yourself 5 minutes… or 15… or however long feels right today.

If clarity feels elusive right now, don’t chase it.
Create space—and allow it to emerge.

With presence,
Melinda

P.S. This Allowing Reflection exercise is a great one to use with your clients as well.
